Safety Orange Bright Orange: Maximum Safety with Highest Visibility
Whether it's a sudden storm causing poor visibility, dense fog hindering rescue operations, or thick clouds leading to directional difficulties.
In mountainous regions, weather changes can happen in the blink of an eye, and risks exist in all seasons.
Safety issues during outdoor activities often involve color concerns, for good reason, as "being seen" and "seeing" are crucial safety factors.
When it comes to safety, orange is often considered the color of choice.
The bright, often neon-like Safety Orange is widely used in various high-risk situations, from safety apparel to snow barriers.
The reason is simple: compared to other colors, bright orange can be seen by the human eye even in adverse lighting conditions.
Since Mammut launched its Eiger Extreme series over 20 years ago, this color has become an essential element in mountaineering sports,
also serving as a positioning tool for high-visibility safety equipment.

Orange as a Warning Signal
Orange serves as a warning signal. In the natural environment, such as in forests,
orange is relatively rare and is used by various animal and plant species for defense or to enhance visibility,
for good reason: from a psychological standpoint, orange is considered striking and conspicuous.
The phenomena observed in nature also apply to human society and have been scientifically proven multiple times.
As early as the 1940s, U.S. researcher F.O. Smith studied the visibility of colors under different lighting conditions,
finding that orange is the most recognizable color for humans in dim light.
In 2002, a research team led by American scientist Susan T.
Chrysler published a report observing that fluorescent orange had optimal visibility at night.
Another study published in 2007 by risk researcher Brent E. Hagel indicated that wearing certain colors (including orange)
can significantly reduce the risk of accidents for pedestrians and cyclists.

The Safest Color on Cliffs and Snow
High visibility leads to increased safety. For Mammut, the journey of orange as a safety color began in 1995 with the Sérac Extreme jacket,
which combined striking orange with complementary blue. Not only did it stand out on the shelves,
but it also firmly established its status during the German Alpine Club’s expedition to Nuptse East that year.
Since then, the orange combination has become an essential part of mountain activities,
and Mammut's Eiger Extreme series has become synonymous with high-altitude adventures.
Since then, "bright orange" has become a fundamental element in all Mammut safety-related products,
from the first Mammut avalanche airbags and Barryvox avalanche transceivers to snow shovels, probes, ropes, and climbing carabiners,
all relying on the signal effect of orange. Today, Safety Orange and Mammut are recognized as symbols of safety in mountain activities.

Honoring the Most Reliable Partner
Orange is the most reliable color, the safest companion in the mountains. In honor of it,
many Mammut products feature bright orange details, integrating orange into the design elements in a stylish and modern manner,
especially in the 160th-anniversary edition products, making them both functional and visually outstanding, worthy of collection.
Moreover, numerous scientific studies elucidate the reason why Safety Orange is used as a warning signal in daily life, be it in traffic, advertising, or mountain activities.
